ChuoLink

Terms of use

Version 2026-10-13

Welcome to ChuoLink

ChuoLink is run by Africa Chuolink Limited, an education consultancy in Tanzania ("ChuoLink", "we", "us"). We help students choose courses and universities, in Tanzania and abroad, apply for admission and scholarships, and prepare to travel and study.

These terms govern your use of the ChuoLink app, the website chuolink.net and the services we provide through them. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone or your email. There is no password. Keep your phone and your email account safe: anyone who can read the code can sign in as you.

Every account is the same kind of account, whether you are a student, a parent, a guardian or a relative. You must give your true name, gender and date of birth, and keep them correct.

You may use ChuoLink only if you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms with you.

Following a student's file

When ChuoLink takes on a student, our staff open a file for that student. Staff may link one or more ChuoLink accounts to the file: the student, a parent, a guardian or another relative the family names. A linked account can see the progress of the file in the app: its stages, its applications and their status, its invoices, payments and receipts, and it is notified when they change.

Staff add and remove linked accounts on the request of the student or the family, and may remove one at any time. If you can see a file that is not yours or your family's, tell us at once at info@chuolink.net.

Asking about courses and applying

Information in the app about universities, courses, fees, entry requirements and scholarships is given in good faith from the universities' published information and may change. Always confirm with us before you rely on it.

Asking about a course or sending an application from the app is a request for ChuoLink to contact you. It is not an application to a university and does not guarantee admission, a scholarship or a visa. Admission decisions are made by universities, and visas by the authorities of each country.

Fees and payments

Our fees for a student are set out in invoices issued to the student's file. You can pay an invoice in the app by mobile money or by card. Payments are processed by our payment provider; ChuoLink does not see or store your card details or mobile money PIN.

A payment counts once ChuoLink has confirmed it, and a receipt is issued then. Refunds, where they apply, are handled as agreed in writing for the student's file. If a payment fails, nothing is charged, and the invoice stays open.

Messages from ChuoLink

We send you notifications in the app and by email about your account and the files you follow. You can turn notifications off in the app's settings or in your phone's settings. Messages that are needed for your account, such as sign-in codes, are always sent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break any law while using ChuoLink;
share content that is false, offensive or that infringes the rights of others;
use the app for any commercial purpose without our written permission;
collect data from the app by automated means such as bots or scrapers;
try to reach accounts, files or systems you are not allowed to reach;
copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app.

Intellectual property

The app, the website and their content, including text, graphics, logos and software, belong to ChuoLink or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its purpose while you follow these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

Suspending and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other users or ChuoLink at risk.

You can delete your account at any time from the app (Your account, Delete account) or at chuolink.net/delete-account. Deletion takes effect 30 days after you ask; signing in again before then keeps the account. A student's file held by ChuoLink is kept as the law and our agreement with the student require, as our privacy policy explains.

No warranty

The app is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors or that its information is complete.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, ChuoLink is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the app, or for decisions made by universities, scholarship bodies or governments. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid ChuoLink through the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we publish the new version with its date, and the app asks you to agree to it before you go on.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute is first to be raised with us at info@chuolink.net, and then, if it is not settled, by mediation, before the courts of Dar es Salaam.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
